Infusion care solutions creating safe connections

The majority of Convatec’s Infusion Care revenues are generated by providing infusion sets to manufacturers of insulin pumps.

An insulin pump is an external, computer-controlled device allowing people with diabetes to get continuous delivery of insulin to the body. The Infusion Set is the disposable part connected to the pump via tubing and injected into the patient’s body, allowing the insulin to be delivered subcutaneously.

Our complete range of soft cannula and stainless steel infusion sets gives users the flexibility to choose the product that suits them best. These products have been developed using the expertise, knowledge and insight based on almost 30 years of experience in infusion care.

In addition to insulin pump therapy for diabetes, we work in close cooporation with leading pharmaceutical companies and other partners to provide infusion sets for subcutaneous drug delivery for other diseases, including apomorphine for Parkinson’s disease, immunoglobulins for primary immune deficiencies, desferal for thalassaemia (a rare blood disorder) and morphine for pain management. Infusion sets for these therapeutic areas are distributed under our brand name neria™.

This currently accounts for a relatively small proportion of revenues but is growing well.

A small proportion of the Infusion Care revenues relate to industrial sales – ie selling to other manufacturers.

We are a leading international manufacturer of high-quality film for multiple medical products and selected technical applications.

We offer our technical capabilities for advanced assembly and ranges from extrusion, injection molding, and spot-curing to welding, all designed for manual or robot assembly. We offer a wide range of devices such as catheters, drainage bags and operating theatre suction tubes.
